Bishkek, Feb. 23, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh( Kyrgyz Parliament) Marlen Mamataliev received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan Sergey Vakunov. According to Parliament, the meeting focused on the active continuation of the established cooperation between the two countries, and the parties exchanged views on some issues in this direction.
Marlen Mamataliev noted that Kyrgyzstan pays special attention to the development of strategic partnership with Russia and the need to actively continue parliamentary ties.
In addition, the speaker said that he would soon pay an official visit to Russia, expressing confidence that the visit would be of particular importance in deepening interstate cooperation and would be fruitful.
Marlen Mamataliev also shared some of her proposals for improving the conditions created for Kyrgyz labor migrants and their families.
The speaker also noted the need to work together on the legalization of vehicles with Russian license plates in Kyrgyzstan, adding: "There will be no unresolved issues. As partner countries, we must openly discuss each issue and resolve all issues through negotiations."
In turn, Ambassador Sergey Vakunov promised to make every effort to organize the speaker's upcoming official visit and noted that each proposal was important.
The parties also emphasized the need to continue interparliamentary cooperation at international platforms and develop it at the level of sectoral committees.
