Bishkek, June 9, 2026. /Kabar/. On June 7, as part of the 24th International Music Festival "Universe of Sound," a concert entitled "Traditional Music of the Kyrgyz People - Heritage of Centuries" was held in the Rachmaninov Hall of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the event was aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and became a vibrant platform for presenting the centuries-old musical heritage of the Kyrgyz people to an international audience.

The concert was organized by the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in collaboration with the Research Center for Traditional Culture and Art of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan under Kyrgyz president.

Kyrgyz artistic delegation was led by ethnomusicologist, public figure, doctor of arts, professor, and People's Artist of Kyrgyz Republic Roza Amanova.

The concert program covered the main trends of Kyrgyz traditional music and presented the audience with the best examples of akyn and dastan art, national instrumental music, and vocal and instrumental art.

The concert featured improvisations by akyns, the episode "The Duel of Manas and Konurbay" from the great epic poem "Manas," and an excerpt from the epic poem "Sarinji-Bokoy." The audience was also treated to outstanding examples of Kyrgyz instrumental music accompanied by national instruments—the komuz, ooz-komuz, choor, chopo-choor, sybyzgy, and chogoyno-choor.

The vocal and instrumental portion of the program introduced the audience to classical Kyrgyz folk songs, revealing the beauty of national lyricism and the unique sonic ideal of "konur," one of the distinctive features of Kyrgyz musical culture.

The concert featured representatives of the cultural spheres of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, scientists and artists, students, and representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Russia.

According to the ministry, at the end of the event, the audience highly praised the skill of the Kyrgyz performers and gave them a standing ovation. The concert became a significant event in promoting the rich musical heritage of the Kyrgyz people on the international stage and made a significant contribution to the further development of cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
