Bishkek, Sept. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan plans to expand athlete training and begin mastering winter Olympic disciplines that are new to the country.
President Sadyr Zhaparov set this objective during a visit to the Utah Olympic Park in the United States.
The head of state emphasized the need to start preparing athletes now for the 2034 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. According to him, this should enable Kyrgyzstan to field a larger national Olympic team at the Games.
Japarov also instructed officials to study Utah's experience in training young athletes and developing sports infrastructure.
Particular attention will be paid to engaging children and young people in winter sports.
