Bishkek, Aug. 22, 2025 /Kabar/. During his official visit to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the seventh meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. The sixth meeting was held in Kazakhstan last year, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev said.

“At the seventh meeting, we discussed the development of trade and economic relations, cooperation in the energy sector, expansion of transit opportunities and interaction in the field of agriculture. In addition, we exchanged views on digitalization, education and culture,” he said.

The minister also noted that the talks were held at the highest level, in an atmosphere of openness and mutual understanding.

“I think that in the current conditions, the volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan is growing.

In addition, we discussed in detail the development of trade, expansion of checkpoints between our countries and increase in transit capabilities. All ministries of Kyrgyzstan have been given relevant instructions,” said Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.

He also added that during the visit, it is planned to hold an official opening ceremony of the Golden Bridge of Friendship monument in Yntymak Park with the participation of the leaders of the two countries. Including the official opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Osh, the opening of a branch of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Osh.
