On February 23, 2026, as part of his participation in the high-level segments of the UN Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Foreign Minister of the Maldives Abdulla Khalil, Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening political dialogue, economic, and cultural ties. They emphasized their mutual interest in establishing air service between the two countries.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to multilateral cooperation. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding cooperation and further developing friendly relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Maldives.
At the end of the meeting, Kulubaev invited Maldives to participate in the World Nomad Games in 2026 and the Second Global Mountain Summit in October 2027.
