Bishkek, June 18, 2025. / Kabar /. Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Mirbek Mambetaliev met with Ambassador of Uzbekistan Saidikram Niyazhodjaev, the press service of the ministry reported.
During the constructive dialogue, the parties discussed in detail the issues of further expansion of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cultural cooperation, paying special attention to the implementation of joint cultural programs, interaction of creative groups, support for cultural initiatives and the development of youth projects.
Mirbek Mambetaliev emphasized that cultural dialogue plays a key role in strengthening fraternal ties and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
"Culture is a bridge that unites peoples. We strive to make our cooperation even more effective and multifaceted," the head of the ministry noted.
In turn, Ambassador Saidikram Niyazhodjaev expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and especially emphasized the importance of cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, voicing a number of promising initiatives.
Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the field of culture is systemic. Days of Culture of both countries are regularly held, promoting the exchange of experience and popularization of national art. Interaction in cinematography is actively developing, including discussions of joint projects and successful screenings of films, such as the Kyrgyz "Beyish Enenin Tamanynda", which received a great response in Uzbekistan. An example of fruitful partnership is also Uzbekistan's support for the reconstruction of cultural sites, such as the Osh State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theater named after Babur. Particular attention is paid to youth projects aimed at strengthening good-neighborly relations and developing academic exchanges. Following today's meeting, the parties agreed to continue close cooperation and develop specific plans for the implementation of new joint projects aimed at further strengthening cultural ties and exchanging experiences.
