Kyrgyzstan calls for strengthening social policy at international level

Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov participated in the opening ceremony of the Second World Summit for Social Development, taking place in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Kyrgyz delegation also included Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva and Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Kanat Sagynbayev.

The summit brought together heads of state and government, heads of international organizations, representatives of civil society, and experts to discuss global efforts to eradicate poverty, fight hunger, and ensure social justice.

The President of the UN General Assembly, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Emir of the State of Qatar (as the host country), and the President of the UN Economic and Social Council delivered welcoming remarks during the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Edil Baisalov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic supports the goals of the Global Alliance to Fight Hunger and Poverty and is consistently implementing large-scale reforms in education, healthcare, and social protection.

Following the summit, it is planned to adopt a Political Declaration reflecting the collective commitments of UN member states to strengthen social policies, expand access to education and healthcare, and mobilize resources for sustainable development.
