Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, met with Luo Yizhou, CEO of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), during the working visit to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
At the beginning of the meeting, the heads of ten Kyrgyz companies operating in the petroleum sector, who were part of the Kyrgyz delegation led by Deputy Chairman Akunbekov, were briefed on the corporation's history and operations.
The meeting focused on procedures for the supply of fuel and lubricants from China to Kyrgyzstan through Kunlun Logistics, a company affiliated with the China National Petroleum Corporation.
This company's activities include international transportation and warehouse logistics for oil field-related cargo, crude oil, natural gas, petroleum products, specialized processed products, and chemicals in accordance with international standards.
In this regard, thye discussed issues necessary for prompt and close cooperation with the corporation in this area on-site. Specifically, the discussions focused on coordinating joint efforts with the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyz Republic, ensuring the unimpeded and efficient passage of oil cargo through checkpoints with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Customs Service, and simplifying visa processing for drivers engaged in transportation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Erlist Akunbekov noted that without mutual trade, the development of trade and economic cooperation between the countries is impossible. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of the participation of Kyrgyz companies in the delegation to conclude new agreements with the Chinese corporation, as well as further deepening cooperation in the oil sector, given the situation in the Central Asian oil market.
Following the negotiations, the companies arriving from Kyrgyzstan reached agreements with the corporation on the supply of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan and signed the relevant contracts.
In turn, Luo Yizhou, CEO of China National Petroleum Corporation, expressed his readiness to deepen coordination and cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, improve customs clearance at border crossings, develop overseas operations and technical services, and jointly create a reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted China-Kyrgyzstan energy logistics corridor, opening a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
