Bishkek, March 19, 2025. /Kabar /. The CIS Interstate Statistical Committee presented the results of socio-economic development in the Commonwealth for 2024. Data broken down by country show that Kyrgyzstan occupies a leading position in GDP growth and a number of other key indicators.

In Kyrgyzstan, the gross domestic product last year increased by 9%, followed by Tajikistan - 8.4%, Uzbekistan - 6.5%, Turkmenistan - 6.4. In general, all the Central Asian republics have gained confident growth rates. The worst indicator is in Moldova, where GDP grew by 0.6%.

Industrial production volumes grew faster in 2024 in Uzbekistan + 6.8%. Kyrgyzstan confidently holds the second position with an indicator of 5.5%. Russia is in 4th place, where industry increased output by 4.6%. For a country with a large economy, such rates are a very solid result, achieved under external pressure and restrictions. Only Moldova showed negative indicators.

Kazakhstan (+13.8%) and Tajikistan (+10.6%) increased agricultural output the most in 2024. Kyrgyzstan ranks third with an indicator of 6.3%. In other CIS countries, the production of vegetables, fruits and livestock products remained approximately at the level of previous years. Agricultural indicators fell sharply in Moldova, minus more than a year. Kyrgyzstan became the undisputed leader in terms of investment in fixed capital, their volume increased by 52.1% at the end of last year. No other country in the CIS could even come close to such indicators. Armenia, in second place, has +14.5%, Russia +8.6%, and Tajikistan +8.4%. The other partners have more modest indicators.

In addition, it is important to note that the volumes of commercial cargo transportation are steadily growing in the CIS (+7.6%) and retail turnover is increasing (+7.7%). That is, macroeconomic indicators as a whole indicate that the Commonwealth is developing, increasing business activity and forming a large space for mutually beneficial cooperation.
