Bishkek, Aug. 30, 2026. /Kabar/. The 35th session of the Council of Heads of State News Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has begun in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.
Representatives of news agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are participating in the event.
Among them are Director of the Kabar News Agency Mederbek Shermetaliev, the Managing Director of the Kazinform News Agency Nagashybek Aldan, the Director General of TASS Andrei Kondrashov, his deputy Marat Abulkhatin, the Head of the TASS Sector for the CIS Countries Boris Grushin, the Head of the AZERTAC Global Communications Department Elshan Shakhbalaev, First Deputy Director General of the BelTA Agency Vasily Matveev, Head of the International Press and Information Department of Turkmenistan News Agency Gulyalek Mukhammetberdieva, and Head of the Information and Informatization Department of the CIS Executive Committee Igor Grigoryev.
The agenda includes discussions on the role and activities of state agencies in developing the tourism potential of the CIS countries, preparations for the VI World Nomad Games to be held in Kyrgyzstan, the events of the Executive Committee dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth, as well as the activities of the ANIA website of the Council.
It is worth noting that the Council of Heads of State Information Agencies of the CIS is a sectoral body that coordinates cooperation in the information sphere within the CIS, exchanges experiences, and implements joint information projects.
