Bishkek, Feb. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. On February 6, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Meder Abakirov met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Ambassador Eduards Stiprais.
During the meeting, Abakirov reaffirmed the Kyrgyz Republic’s commitment to further strengthening relations with the European Union and expressed interest in expanding cooperation across a broad range of bilateral issues.
Stiprais praised the active and constructive dialogue between the EU and Kyrgyzstan and reaffirmed the European Union’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at enhancing economic, social, and transport cooperation, as well as promoting sustainable development.
The sides also discussed planned high-level visits and possible joint activities intended to further strengthen the partnership.
Ambassador Stiprais arrived in Bishkek to take part in the 6th European Union–Central Asia Civil Society Forum.
