Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan to host 6th World Nomad Games in coming days. The country expects representatives from more than 110 countries and a total of over 100,000 guests to attend.
According to the State Agency for Tourism Development, the Games, which will be held from August 31 to September 6, will be one of the largest international events in the history of domestic tourism.
According to official information, the participation of representatives from more than 110 countries of the world in this year's games has been confirmed. Among them are official delegations, athletes, cultural and scientific figures, international journalists and foreign tourists.
According to preliminary expert estimates and indicators of previous World Nomad Games, the total number of guests attending the large-scale event will exceed 100,000. Specifically, about 3 thousand athletes from more than 110 countries will participate, including athletes, judges, representatives of the cultural and scientific sphere, and high-level official guests, the number of official delegations will reach 4.5-5 thousand people.
These figures show that the geography of the World Nomad Games is expanding every year. While about 600 athletes from 19 countries participated in the first games held in Kyrgyzstan in 2014, this year the number of participating countries has increased by about 6 times.
In addition, the number of media representatives, including foreign and local journalists, bloggers and cameramen who will cover the games on a global scale, is expected to be about a thousand.
The number of foreign and domestic tourists, as well as spectators who want to witness the opening ceremony, sports and cultural programs of the Games, is expected to reach from 85 thousand to 100 thousand.
“Guests from neighboring countries, including China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and distant foreign countries, are expected to come to witness the opening ceremony, sports and cultural programs of the Games. Domestic tourists will also gather from all regions of the country,” the agency notes.
More than 100 thousand people are expected to participate in the VI World Nomad Games, which will be held from August 31 to September 6, and their active movement is expected during these days. According to the agency, this figure will give a huge and positive economic impetus to the tourism infrastructure, hotel and service sectors of our country.
As a reminder, the opening ceremony of the Games will be held at Bishkek Arena on August 31. The closing ceremony will take place on September 6 at the Cholpon-Ata hippodrome.
