Bishkek, March 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa arrived in Kyrgyzstan on official visit. He is currently meeting with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.
Warmly welcoming the Ghanaian delegation, Jeenbek Kulubaev noted that this visit opens a new page in relations between the two countries.
"We view your visit as a political sign of mutual interest in developing Kyrgyz-Ghanaian relations. We are confident that this visit will promote dialogue and create a strong foundation for practical cooperation in the future. Despite the geographical distance between our countries, we see you not only as a new diplomatic partner but also as a friend who shares a desire to protect sovereignty, sustainable development in the face of climate change, a commitment to multilateral diplomacy, and environmental protection," said Jeenbek Kulubaev.
In turn, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is one of the leading Central Asian countries with which Ghana is developing cooperation. He also emphasized that stability has been established in the country since the arrival of President Sadyr Zhaparov.
"We are aware of the Kumtor mine in your country. Ghana also has one of the largest gold deposits in the world, ranked among the top five. Therefore, we are interested in collaborating with you in gold mining," Ablakwa said.
During the visit, the parties will discuss prospects for developing bilateral cooperation and sign several documents.
It is worth noting that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa arrived in Kyrgyzstan the day before, on March 15. His official visit will conclude on March 17.
