Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Kadamjai region of Batken Oblast successfully grows citrus crops using new phytotechnologies, Bakyt Torobaev, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry, told at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Subsoil Use, Ecology, and Environmental Protection.
According to him, citrus fruits such as tangerines, oranges, lemons, and kumquats are grown in the region.
He noted that the area occupied by seedling cultivation has increased significantly, from 801 hectares in 2023 to 1,056 hectares in 2025.
Last year, tropical crop production totaled 7,149 tons.
