Kyrgyzstan interested in developing energy cooperation within EAEU

Bishkek, May 29, 2026 /Kabar/. The meeting of the Council of Heads of authorized energy bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union held in Astana on May 29, 2026.

The event was attended by Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy, who spoke on developing energy cooperation within the EAEU, forming common energy markets, and strengthening regional integration.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the electric power, gas, and energy infrastructure sectors. Particular attention was paid to ensuring energy security, improving market mechanisms, and strengthening interstate cooperation.

In his speech, Taalaibek Ibraev noted the Kyrgyz Republic's interest in further developing mutually beneficial energy integration within the EAEU and emphasized the importance of promoting joint energy projects.

"Reliable cooperation between countries is important factor in ensuring energy sustainability and regional development," the minister noted.

Furthermore, the Kyrgyz side expressed its readiness to further develop constructive dialogue and practical interaction with EAEU member states.
