Kyrgyzstan, Iran discuss prospects of cooperation

Bishkek, May 14, 2026 /Kabar/. On May 13, the Secretary of Security Council of Kyrgyzstan, Adilet Orozbekov, met with the Deputy Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Bagheri.

According to the presidential administration, ahead of the 21st meeting of the Security Council Secretaries of the SCO member states, they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, and current regional and international processes were discussed.

Furthermore, they discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.

The role of the Kyrgyz Republic as the current chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was emphasized, as well as the importance of further strengthening multilateral cooperation within the organization.
