Kyrgyzstan, Japan discussed developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Bishkek, May 29, 2026. /Kabar/. Prospects for expanding Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation in culture, museum affairs, and youth policy were discussed during a bilateral meeting between Mirbek Mambetaliev, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy and Hirano Ryuichi, Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan.

According to the ministry, the parties discussed prospects for further development of cooperation, focusing on the implementation of joint cultural and humanitarian projects.

The development of museums, preservation of cultural heritage, and expansion of cooperation between the creative and cultural institutions of the two countries were discussed separately. They also exchanged views on the implementation of digital cultural initiatives, exhibition projects, and innovative programs aimed at youth.

Minister Mirbek Mambetaliev invited the Japanese side to participate in the 6th World Nomad Games. The international event will contribute to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation, as well as their readiness to implement joint projects and intensify cultural exchange.
