Kyrgyzstan, Japan to expand ties in investment and tourism

Bishkek, Jan. 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov met with Japanese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hirano Ryuichi on his appointment to the diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.

Edil Baisalov congratulated Hirano Ryuichi on his appointment, noted the stable development of Kyrgyz-Japanese relations, and added that the First Summit of the Heads of State of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue was a success.

The meeting noted the importance of active political dialogue, as well as Japan's role in the socio-economic and infrastructure development of Kyrgyzstan, including the implementation of JICA projects.

The parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, including in the fields of investment, tax, cultural and humanitarian, and tourism.

As a result of the meeting, mutual commitments were made to further deepen the partnership.
