Bishkek, June 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, June 25, during working visit to the Jalal-Abad region, President Sadyr Zhaparov laid a time capsule for the construction of the Kazarman hydroelectric power plant cascade in Toguz-Toro district.
The head of state noted that the hydroelectric potential of the Naryn River was explored back in Soviet era.
"Even then, the Kazarman hydroelectric power plant cascade was considered one of the largest hydroelectric facilities planned for construction on Naryn river.
"From the first years of independence, economic difficulties in the country prevented the implementation of this project. Today, as part of our efforts to ensure the country's energy independence, we are beginning construction of this very cascade of Kazarman hydroelectric power plants," the president said.
