Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. Today, December 4, State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Arslan Koichiev congratulated Kyrgyzstanis on Manas Epic Day.
“The Manas Epic is the embodiment of civic duty, patriotism, and the unity of the people and the integrity of our country.
In 1995, Kyrgyzstan celebrated the 1000th anniversary of the Epic of Manas.
In 2013, the trilogy "Manas," "Semetey," and "Seytek" was registered by the United Nations as a Masterpiece of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
According to scholarly research, the Epic of Manas mentions over 500 names of lands and waters, thousands of people, food products, weapons, clothing, crafts, and agricultural tools, and, most importantly, nations.
To this day, the people remember that great storytellers could not finish reciting the Epic of Manas for three months, reciting 28 different verses. The true value of this phenomenon lies in the fact that, when inspired, the storyteller expands the narrative and introduces new details, Koichiev said in his congratulation.
