Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. Earlier in the day, Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov held a meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Montenegro, Chairperson of the UN European Commission for Tourism, Simonida Kordić.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-Montenegrin cooperation in the tourism sector, including increasing mutual tourist exchange, promoting the tourism potential of the two countries, developing direct flights, and simplifying conditions for mutual travel of citizens.

Meder Abakirov noted the dynamic development of the tourism sector of Kyrgyzstan in recent years, emphasizing that the country has significant potential for attracting foreign tourists. In this regard, she provided information about the major projects being implemented in the tourism sector, including the construction of the Ala-Too Resort multifunctional tourist complex in Issyk-Kul.

Simonida Kordić expressed the interest of the Montenegrin side in activating tourism ties with Kyrgyzstan and expanding cooperation in this area.

The parties confirmed their readiness to continue interaction and take practical steps to further develop bilateral relations, including cooperation in the cultural sphere, as well as to interact at international platforms.
