Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. Astana hosts international conference focused on countering cybercrime on November 4–5, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

According to the ministry, this large-scale event has brought together representatives from 27 foreign states. The delegation from Kyrgyzstan is led by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ulan Niyazbekov.

Addressing the conference participants, the Kyrgyz minister noted that cybercrime is constantly evolving, taking on increasingly complex organizational forms.

The minister placed particular emphasis on new challenges arising from the development of artificial intelligence technologies. The use of AI-generated voices, messages purportedly from acquaintances or organizations, and fraudulent investment schemes are becoming increasingly common tools for criminal activity.

Furthermore, the cross-border nature of such crimes significantly complicates investigations; perpetrators may operate from other countries, utilizing foreign digital platforms, third-party accounts, and financial instruments across various jurisdictions.

"In this regard, Ulan Niyazbekov underscored the need for a comprehensive approach, one that encompasses not only the prevention of offenses and the enhancement of public digital literacy but also rapid coordination between law enforcement agencies, banking institutions, and telecommunications operators," the statement says.

It is noted that the timely exchange of information with international partners is also a critical prerequisite for effectively combating such crimes.
