Bishkek, Sept. 28, 2026. /Kabar/. Military contingents from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Tajikistan have begun performing tasks as part of the "Interaction-2026" exercise, as well as the special exercises "Search" and "Echelon." Units of the CSTO collective forces, equipped with modern weapons and equipment, are building up their capabilities, drawing on the experience of modern conflicts.
"A total of approximately 2,000 service members and 350 pieces of weapons, military, and special equipment are involved. The exercises feature the extensive use of various types of UAVs and robotic systems, as well as the practice of practical troop actions based on experience in conducting special military operations," the CSTO Secretariat reported.
Military experts note that unmanned aerial vehicles, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare systems are being widely used during the joint maneuvers, and air defense systems are being improved.
Andrey Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, emphasized that the international situation is evolving in such a way that the Collective Security Treaty Organization's rapid response forces must be prepared for any scenario.
"The approach of 'zones of instability' directly to the borders of our states is contributing to the growth of challenges and threats to military security. These emerging conditions dictate the need for us to respond promptly to changes in the nature and content of military operations. Guided by priorities, we are improving the command and control components and formations of collective forces, and their readiness for actions that are as close as possible to the real conditions of modern armed conflicts," said Andrey Serdyukov.
