Kyrgyzstan participated in the first media forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which took place on October 1 in Baku on the topic "Building Trust through Media in a Polarized World, " the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy reported.
Kyrgyzstan was represented at the forum by Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Salkyn Sarnogoeva.
In her speech, she noted that in the context of increasing polarization, the media should promote trust and mutual understanding, rather than divide society.
The deputy minister also spoke about the importance of the "Kyrgyz Jarany" concept, aimed at strengthening civic identity and uniting citizens based on shared values.
Salkyn Sarnogoeva cited the World Nomad Games as an example of an international platform that promotes cultural dialogue and mutual understanding between peoples. She emphasized the significant role of the media in expanding the Games' international audience.
Furthermore, she spoke about the development of a modern media ecosystem in Kyrgyzstan, in which traditional and new media collaborate to promote the values of mutual respect and dialogue, as well as overcome stereotypes.
In conclusion, Salkyn Sarnogoeva emphasized Kyrgyzstan's readiness for further cooperation in creating a safe, responsible, and inclusive information space.
