Bishkek, July 17, 2025. /Kabar/. On July 11, 2025, the Economic Forum Magdeburg-2025 was held in Magdeburg (Germany), co-organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Federal Republic of Germany. The event brought together representatives of the business community from the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, as well as distinguished guests, including the President of the Landtag (Parliament) of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr. Gunnar Schellenberger, the Deputy Mayor of Magdeburg, and other official representatives of the state, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
The primary objective of the Forum was to strengthen economic ties with Germany, discuss investment opportunities and foster cooperation in key sectors such as energy, mining, logistics, education and more.
During the Forum, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Sariev delivered a speech highlighting the prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics. He emphasized the importance of German companies’ participation in infrastructure projects such as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and the development of green energy.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Germany, Omurbek Tekebaev, in his address, focused on Kyrgyzstan’s strategic position as a transit hub between Europe and Asia, as well as the country’s potential in renewable energy, critical minerals and human resources. He highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s competitive advantages, including affordable and environmentally friendly hydropower, and invited companies from Saxony-Anhalt to participate in projects related to quartz mining and processing, silicon production and the development of educational programs.
The Embassy also organized a cultural program for the participants of the business forum.
