Issyk-Kul, Sept. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. The 6th World Nomad Games were held at an especially high level this year and have become a significant event on the global stage, tourism specialist Azamat Zhamankulov told the Kabar News Agency at the closing ceremony of the Games.
According to him, the Nomad Games, held since 2014, are expanding their scale and improving their organization year after year. This is evidenced by the attendance of representatives from more than 100 countries at this year's Games.
"Overall, the Nomad Games are going well." The sporting and cultural events, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies, were organized at a high level.
We ourselves may not be able to evaluate them, but the foreigners who arrived and the entire world are doing so today. You've probably noticed this yourselves.
I'm not talking to representatives of large countries, but to representatives of small states. Each of them says, "Although you don't notice it, for us, small countries, it's very important that our culture is rising to such a level, entering such an arena, and creating such opportunities for us. Kyrgyzstan plays a major role in this."
Therefore, I believe the contribution and place of the World Nomad Games in the world today are very significant," said Azamat Zhamankulov.
The 6th World Nomad Games were held in Kyrgyzstan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, 2026, with the main competitions taking place in the Issyk-Kul region. More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries participated in the Games.
