Bishkek, Sept. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, to discuss cooperation and preparations for the 7th World Nomad Games.
Kasymaliev noted the significance of Minnikhanov’s visit to Kyrgyzstan, which took place as part of the 6th World Nomad Games.
He expressed Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to provide comprehensive support to Tatarstan and share its experience in preparing for and hosting the World Nomad Games.
The sides discussed bilateral trade, economic, and cultural cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continuing mutual business visits, strengthening direct contacts between business communities, and jointly promoting promising investment projects.
The officials also discussed joint initiatives in biodiversity conservation and agreed to maintain active cooperation in environmental protection.
Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in education, culture, science, youth policy, and sports. The sides noted that closer interaction in these areas would contribute to strengthening the traditional bonds of friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples.
The 7th World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place in Kazan, Tatarstan, in 2028.
The World Nomad Games are an international sports and cultural event dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of nomadic peoples. The Games bring together traditional sports and ethnosports with cultural performances, music, crafts, and academic activities focused on nomadic history and traditions.
The first World Nomad Games were held in 2014 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. Since then, the Games have been hosted by Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan.
The 6th World Nomad Games were held in Kyrgyzstan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, 2026, with the main competitions taking place in the Issyk-Kul region. More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries participated in the Games.
