Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has received official permission to export honey to European Union countries.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, specialists led by Adilet Sotovaldiev, Director of the Veterinary Service, Livestock, Pasture, and Forage Development, held a meeting with honey producers across the country.

During the meeting, issues related to developing a further export roadmap, increasing the potential of Kyrgyz honey in the European market, and ensuring the production of products that meet international quality standards were discussed.

It is noted that the European Commission has authorized the export of Kyrgyz honey and included it in the list of products subject to technical requirements for import into the EU. The opening of the European market was made possible thanks to the systematic work of the Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with partners from the European Union.

The ministry emphasized that this decision opens new opportunities for domestic beekeepers: export volumes are increasing, the competitiveness of their products on the international market is improving, and conditions for entering new markets are being created.

Work to expand the list of livestock products permitted for export to EU countries will continue, allowing Kyrgyz producers to strengthen their position in the European market.
