Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan strengthen cultural cooperation

Bishkek, May 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are expanding cooperation in theater, music, cinema, education, museums, and libraries. This was announced during bilateral meetings between Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Mirbek Mambetaliev and Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Amonzoda Sattoriyon.

According to the ministry's press service, during the meeting, Mirbek Mambetaliev noted that holding the Days of Culture of Kyrgyz Republic in Dushanbe in 2025 was important cultural event symbolizing the friendship and mutual respect between the two peoples. It was also emphasized that culture, as a "soft power," contributes to strengthening mutual understanding and trust.

Furthermore, the parties expressed their willingness to further deepen cooperation in preserving historical and cultural heritage, developing folklore, supporting young talent, and implementing joint cultural projects.

Following the meeting, it was noted that the ongoing Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan will mark a new stage in the development of cultural ties and will contribute to the further strengthening of friendship and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.
