Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2026 /Kabar/. During a national meeting dedicated to discussing strategic objectives for the next five years, President Sadyr Zhaparov stated that transport connectivity in the country’s geographically remote regions is gradually improving.

According to the head of state, a unified transport space is a vital prerequisite for the country’s economic and territorial integrity, facilitating the movement of citizens and the transport of goods between regions.

"Our transport system will be integrated into international corridors and the markets of other nations, transforming the country into a full-fledged regional hub. The projects concerning the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway will be fully implemented. Balykchy city will serve as a railway junction for the Balykchy–Tamchy–Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy–Kochkor–Kara-Keche–Makmal routes.
Furthermore, the Makmal station will become a key hub connecting domestic and international routes. We will provide our population and businesses with reliable, high-quality public utility infrastructure. Completing the modernization of outdated networks, constructing wastewater treatment plants, and expanding engineering infrastructure across all settlements are among our top priorities," the president said.
