Kyrgyzstan to build Kazarman HPP cascade in Toguz-Toro

Bishkek, June 16, 2026. /Kabar/. The initial construction work of the "Kazarman HPP cascade" project, one of the largest hydropower facilities in the country to be built on the Naryn River, has begun in Toguz-Toro district.

As reported by the district administration, the akim Nurlan Eshmukambet uulu visited the construction site and got acquainted with the progress of the mobilization town being built for workers.

The total capacity of the project will be 912 MW, ensuring the country's energy independence. The HPPs included in the cascade are:

Alabuga HPP - 600 MW;

Karabulun-1 HPP — 149 MW;

Karabulun-2 HPP — 163 MW.

The project is being implemented on the basis of an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Asian Investment Holding OJSC.

In order to quickly start construction, the district administration transformed 23 hectares of land and completely transferred it to the investor.

Currently, the very first stage of construction is the construction and preparation of a township for workers. The regional leadership has promised that all conditions will be created for the high-quality construction of this strategic facility.
