Kyrgyzstan to host Asian Wrestling Championship and Central Asian Sailing Championship in 2026

Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2026 /Kabar/. This year will be significant for Kyrgyzstan in terms of the development of sports and event tourism. The country is scheduled to host a number of large-scale international competitions, including the Asian Wrestling Championship, the Central Asian Sailing Championship on Issyk-Kul Lake, and the next World Nomad Games.

This was announced during a board meeting of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, where Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov spoke.

They were instructed to expedite the launch of the state-owned enterprise "Kyrgyz Center for Sports and Health Medicine," strengthen security measures at mass competitions, and accelerate the digitalization of sports services. The Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports was instructed to review its operations and strengthen the training of specialists in new sports.
