Kyrgyzstan, UAE sign memorandum on mutual recognition of driver's licenses

Bishkek, April 15, 2025. /Kabar/. A memorandum on mutual recognition of driver's licenses was signed between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

The ceremony took place in Abu Dhabi with the assistance of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.

The agreement was concluded between the State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers of Kyrgyzstan and the UAE Ministry of Interior. The document is aimed at simplifying the procedure for the movement of citizens of both countries by recognizing driver's licenses issued by competent authorities.

The memorandum was signed by Director of the State Agency Ulan Karypbekov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Interior of the UAE Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is expected that the practical implementation and official entry into force of the document will be announced within a month after the details are agreed upon through diplomatic channels.

From the Kyrgyz side, the event was also attended by Director of the Consular Department Seitbek Zhumakadyr uulu, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UAE Aslanbek Saliev, as well as embassy staff.

During the meeting, current issues of Kyrgyz-UAE relations were discussed, including measures to create favorable conditions for the stay of citizens in the two countries.
