At a session of the Zhogorku Kenesh on September 25, parliament members reviewed and adopted the draft constitutional law "On Amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Elections of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Deputies of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic'" in the second and third readings. The bills were initiated by Deputy Dastan Bekeshev.
Cholpon Sultanbekova, Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues, and Rules of Procedure of the Zhogorku Kenesh, presented information on the bill. The bill aims to clarify and improve the rules governing the participation of minors in the electoral process.
