Bishkek, Oct. 26, 2026 /Kabar/. During the meeting with local officials and residents of the Chatkal district, part of visit to the Jalal-Abad region, Kyrgyz president addressed the development of the mining sector and its contribution to the region's socio-economic progress.

The head of state noted in addition to social packages, mining companies contribute 2% of their revenue to regional and district development funds. Depending on global market prices, this allows for an annual allocation of 200 to 500 million soms toward the development of these areas. These funds are used, among other things, to renovate and upgrade social infrastructure in villages.

At the same time, the president emphasized the need for a responsible approach toward natural resources and strict adherence to environmental standards.

"Once mineral extraction is complete, full-scale technical and biological land reclamation must be carried out. We must not allow damage to nature or create environmental problems for future generations," the president stated.
