Bishkek, June 4, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, June 4, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held a telephone conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the conversation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated President Sadyr Zhaparov on Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028.
The president of Uzbekistan noted that the convincing support for Kyrgyzstan's candidacy by UN member states is clear evidence of Kyrgyzstan's high international standing and recognition of the country's leadership's commitment to strengthening peace, stability, and sustainable development.
President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed his sincere gratitude to the president of Uzbekistan for his warm congratulations and the continued support of fraternal Uzbekistan.
The head of state particularly noted the contribution of Central Asian countries to promoting Kyrgyzstan's candidacy during the election campaign. Sadyr Zhaparov confirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to actively engage with partners to advance issues of mutual interest within the UN Security Council.
During the telephone conversation, the leaders also discussed current issues of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek comprehensive strategic partnership, the implementation of previously reached agreements, and reaffirmed their mutual interest in further deepening multifaceted cooperation.
They also held talks on schedule of upcoming high-level events.
