Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2026. /Kabar/. The development of transport corridors, increasing trade, and cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be a priority. Mongolia's new ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Demchiga Tegshjargal, told journalists after the presentation of his credentials at the Yntymak Ordo in Bishkek.
According to him, during his diplomatic mission, efforts will be focused on deepening bilateral ties, primarily through transportation.
"There is a trilateral transport agreement between Mongolia, China, and Russia, which Kyrgyzstan logically joins." The goal for the next two to three years is to launch a route to Ulaanbaatar as soon as possible. The Bishkek-Urumqi-Ulaanbaatar route is approximately 3,500 km long, and through Altai, it's approximately 4,500 km. This is strategically important for logistics companies in both countries," the ambassador emphasized.
The diplomat also focused on the economic sector.
"We intend to actively work within the context of the Eurasian Economic Union to promote our companies and unlock their potential," he added.
The head of the diplomatic mission also emphasized the linguistic and cultural commonality of the two peoples, as well as the role of public diplomacy.
"The Kyrgyz and Mongolian peoples have a great deal in common. About 20-30% of our vocabulary words are the same or have common roots, for example, 'unaa' and 'borsok'." Last year, a scientific expedition took place in two western Mongolian aimags – Bayan-Ulgii and Uvs. In mid-June, I visited these territories, home to approximately 12,000 ethnic Kyrgyz. "They have fully preserved their traditional way of life, customs, and national cuisine. This is an important topic for the development of public diplomacy," shared Demchig Tegshjargal.
Speaking about his first impressions of his stay in Bishkek, the ambassador admitted that adapting to the new situation was going very smoothly.
"Before my appointment to your beautiful country, to the green city of Bishkek, I served three terms in Germany. Previously, I had only been to Kyrgyzstan passing through Manas Airport. I feel at home here; everything is very similar and close," he concluded.
