Bishkek, April 9, 2025. /Kabar/. Mountaineer Eduard Kubatov climbed to the summit of Annapurna without oxygen and raised the flag of Kyrgyzstan.
The peak is considered one of the most dangerous and risky in the world. Its height is 8091 meters. Eduard Kubatov said that the flag that he raised at the summit was given to him by the head of state Sadyr Zhaparov, and he dedicates this victory to all the people of Kyrgyzstan.
Note that last year, the Kyrgyz climber was listed in the Guinness Book of Records. He became the oldest person to conquer the summit of Manaslu (8163 m) without using oxygen. Kubatov made the ascent on October 1, 2022, at the age of 50.
He is also known as one of the experienced climbers who conquered peaks without oxygen. Three years ago, a Kyrgyz expedition climbed Manaslu, and three members, including Kubatov, reached the summit without using oxygen tanks.
