Issyk-Kul, Sept. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. As part of the 6th World Nomad Games, musician Alexey Selivanov from Simferopol is entertaining tourists and guests at Kyrchyn gorge with unusual musical instruments that he makes himself.
According to Selivanov, he was invited to Kyrgyzstan by a friend who had previously visited the country.
“My friend came here and said, ‘Come with me, I’ll show you paradise on earth.’ I came and saw it for myself,” he said.
The musician brought several handmade instruments with him, including a modified ocarina that doubles as a drinking cup and can also be used to play melodies.
He also brought a tonal pneumatic tambourine.
“I’ve been chasing away the clouds all day, and I’ve succeeded,” Selivanov joked.
He noted that the tambourine features an image of a sheep dressed in wolf’s clothing.
Selivanov also brought a harmonica and a hydra, which he said he plays together to create a distinctive sound.
The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, 2026. The opening ceremony took place at Bishkek Arena in the capital on Aug. 31, while the main competitions are being held in the Issyk-Kul region from Sept. 1 to 6.
More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries are participating in the Games.
