New plant in Kyrgyzstan's Nookat to create 3,000 new jobs

Bishkek, July 21, 2026 /Kabar/. Nookat district of Osh region to build a mineral fertilizer plant with annual capacity of 500,000 tons.

According to the agriculture ministry, the plant is being built in Kulatov rural district and will be constructed in three phases. The first phase of construction has been completed, with the opening of the plant's administrative building. The plant is scheduled to begin producing mineral fertilizers in September 2026, after which it will reach full production capacity.

The total estimated cost of the project is $260 million. Once the plant reaches full capacity, it is expected to create approximately 3,000 new jobs, expanding employment opportunities for residents of the region.

"The implementation of this large-scale project will significantly contribute to the economic development of the Nookat district and the Osh region as a whole. The plant will provide the agricultural sector with domestically produced mineral fertilizers, reduce dependence on imported supplies, and create new jobs," the statement says.
