Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2025. /Kabar/. The country's main New Year's tree will traditionally be lit on December 15 in Ala-Too Square.
The main structure of the tree is 32 meters tall, and 35 meters tall with the star. This beautiful New Year's tree will be decorated with 2,000 blue and silver balls.
Preparations are also underway for the opening of the country's largest ice rink in the square – 1,500 square meters, which will be built around fountains. The traditional New Year's fair, "Northern Lights," will also be open in the city center.
It is noted that for the second year, the square's decoration has been carried out without any expense from the city budget: businesses are covering all the work, including utilities.
Last year, companies invested approximately 26 million soms, and this year's investment will be higher due to the expansion of the ice rink and the updating of equipment for holiday events.
