Bishkek, June 4, 2026 /Kabar/. The grand unveiling of monumental mural dedicated to the founding fathers of modern Kyrgyz statehood—Abdykerim Sydykov, Imanaly Aidarbekov, Zhusup Abdrakhmanov, Abdykerim Orozbekov, and Ishenaly Arabaev took place in Old Bishkek underground complex.
The ceremony was attended by State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Arslan Koichiev, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, member of the "legendary parliament" Medetkan Sherimbekov, Vice Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Mederbek Aliyev, member of Jogorku Kenesh Elvira Surabaldiyeva, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Latif Seyfaddin ogly Gandilov, as well as representatives of the scientific community, culture, and the media.
The unveiling of the mural was a significant event in the country's cultural and social life. The artistic composition commemorates the outstanding statesmen who stood at the origins of Kyrgyz statehood and played a key role in shaping the republic's political, legal, and educational foundations.
As noted at the event, the project was implemented to preserve historical memory, promote national heritage, and strengthen the continuity of generations. The mural is intended to remind residents and visitors of the capital of the people whose ideas, work, and statesmanship laid the foundation of modern Kyrgyzstan.
As a reminder, in 2024, decree of Kyrgyz president officially designates Abdykerim Sydykov, Imanaly Aidarbekov, Zhusup Abdrakhmanov, Abdykerim Orozbekov, and Ishenaly Arabaev as the Founding Fathers of Kyrgyz statehood. This decision was made to preserve historical memory and strengthen national identity.
