Oman to study investment opportunities and tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Investment Council of the Sultanate of Oman Sultan Al-Habsi as part of his official visit to Oman.

According to the Foreign Ministry, during the talks, Kulubaev spoke about the reforms being carried out in the country and the improvement of the investment climate, and also noted the great untapped potential for cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic, investment and tourism spheres. In this regard, he proposed that the Omani side consider the possibility of creating a joint investment company and invited his interlocutor to visit Kyrgyzstan together with the Omani investment delegation.

He also invited to take part in the investment forum between the countries of Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Countries, which will be held in late June, early July 2025 in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In turn, Minister of Finance of Oman, Sultan Al-Habsi, expressed gratitude for the invitation to Kyrgyzstan and agreed with the opinion that the countries have great potential for developing cooperation. In this context, he supported the proposal to intensify interaction between representatives of government agencies and the private sector of Kyrgyzstan and Oman.

Sultan Al-Habsi also announced his intention to send a working group to Kyrgyzstan in the near future to study the investment opportunities and tourism potential of the country, as well as to consider projects in various areas of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on developing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Oman in the field of investment, trade, logistics and tourism.
