Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2026 /Kabar/. Osh Oblast of Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan, establishing joint ventures, and developing the Osh–Andijan–Tashkent–Shymkent–Turkistan international tourism route, Osh Governor Amankan Kenzhebaev told during a meeting with Abylkair Skakov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues regarding the development of bilateral cooperation during the meeting. Amankan Kenzhebaev noted that the population of the Osh region stands at 1.4 million and emphasized the region's interest in expanding economic ties with Kazakhstan.
In the tourism sector, a proposal was made to jointly promote the Osh–Andijan–Tashkent–Shymkent–Turkistan route, which would allow tourists to visit four countries in a single trip.
Amankan Kenzhebaev announced Osh Oblast’s readiness to present specific projects at the Intergovernmental Council meeting and the interregional forum scheduled to take place in Bishkek on October 29–30.
