Bishkek, Feb. 16, 2026. /Kabar/. On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2026, the Secretary General Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev held contacts with his counterparts and engaged in bilateral meetings. In particular, he met with Dr. Bram Govaerts, Director General of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). During the meeting, the parties reviewed follow-up steps on the cooperation established during the Secretary General’s working visit to Mexico in November 2025.
The discussion focused on advancing collaboration in the field of food security, agricultural resilience, and sustainable agricultural innovation across the OTS region. The sides explored practical avenues to enhance institutional cooperation and support knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening food systems and contributing to long-term regional stability and development.
The Secretary General reaffirmed the OTS commitment to fostering partnerships with leading international institutions to promote sustainable growth and resilience across the Turkic region.
