Over 200 thsd Kyrgyz citizens travel to Uzbekistan in January
Bishkek, March 24, 2025. /Kabar /. 211,262 citizens of Kyrgyzstan visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in January 2025, the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistanreported.
During the indicated period, tourists from Tajikistan (200,969 people), Kazakhstan (105,551), Russia (48,695), Afghanistan (42,733), Turkmenistan (26,154), Turkiye (11,660), India (5,049), China (4,988), South Korea (2,896) and other countries (18,718) visited Uzbekistan.
In January of this year, a total of 678.7 thousand foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. Compared to the same period in 2024, their number increased by 158.5 thousand people, or 30.5%. Previously, it was reported that only every sixth resident of Uzbekistan could afford to travel, and Kyrgyzstan has become the most popular destination for tourists.
