Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2025 / Kabar /. The official visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Japan, which took place from Dec.18-20, has concluded.
On Dec.18, the head of state met with Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
During the meeting, issues of strengthening friendly ties, developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and expanding mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Japan were discussed. On Dec. 20, the president participated in the First Summit of the Central Asia – Japan Dialogue.
In his address, the head of state emphasized that today's summit expresses a shared desire to take the partnership between the countries of Central Asia and Japan to a qualitatively new level.
He confirmed that Kyrgyzstan supports Japan's proposal to focus joint work on three key areas: environmental friendliness and sustainability, communications, and human resource development.
Then, the president took part in a ceremony announcing bilateral documents following the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue business forum.
The event addressed priority areas of cooperation, including sustainable development, the development of a green economy, digitalization, the development of the IT industry, as well as human capital development and education.
That same day, Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. The parties discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, increasing mutual trade and investment, developing cooperation in sustainable and green energy, training and professional development, and expanding collaboration in sports and tourism.
Following the bilateral meeting, a number of bilateral documents were signed aimed at enhancing and deepening cooperation.
