Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized China's special importance to Kyrgyzstan, calling it a good neighbor, close friend, and time-tested reliable partner.
"China is an important foreign policy priority for Kyrgyzstan, a major trade and investment partner. China is our good neighbor, close friend, and time-tested reliable partner," Sadyr Zhaparov said, addressing Chinese President Xi Jinping. The head of state noted that in a short historical period, relations between Kyrgyzstan and China have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era and are now at a historically high level.
"I can confidently say that today, cooperation between our countries has entered a new, 'golden' period of development. Undoubtedly, all these achievements are thanks to your personal support," he noted.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and China have maintained close ties for centuries, based on friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect.
The president noted that today, the countries are jointly reviving the historic mission of the Great Silk Road by opening new checkpoints and building roads and railways.
"In this regard, Kyrgyzstan supports and is ready to continue to make its contribution to the implementation of joint projects within the framework of your Belt and Road initiative," the head of state said.
Sadyr Zhaparov also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and China are demonstrating a model of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and consideration of each other's interests.
At the invitation of President Sadyr Zhaparov, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit the day before, on August 30.
