Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2026 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated Kyrgyzstanis on Independence Day today, August 31.
Text of the head of state's congratulatory message:
"Dear compatriots!
Dear people of Kyrgyzstan!
I sincerely congratulate you on our country's main national holiday—the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic!
Today is a great day when every Kyrgyzstani, with their heads held high and joy in their hearts, can proudly say, "I am a citizen of the independent Kyrgyz state!" This is a day when we value civic honor and dignity above all else, celebrate national unity, and are proud of our homeland.
Kyrgyzstan's independence is a priceless, sacred legacy passed down to us by our ancestors, who endured centuries of trials, difficult paths, and harsh times, creating once-great powers renowned throughout the world. The blood shed and lives sacrificed by our ancestors for freedom and the preservation of the name "Kyrgyz" throughout the centuries will forever remain in our memory.
At the same time, the contribution of the "legendary parliament," destined by fate to adopt the Declaration of State Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, is also inscribed in golden letters in the history of our country.
The great legacy left to us by our ancestors is a sacred covenant that we are obligated to pass on to future generations. It is our special and responsible mission, as well as the civic duty of each of us.
Dear contemporaries!
Today, our country, rejuvenated and inspired to pursue a new path of development, is home to a dignified, noble, and hospitable people, and the economy is confidently gaining momentum. We are on the path to further strengthening the new Kyrgyzstan—a country that has earned the trust of more than 100 countries and was elected a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, one of the world's most authoritative international organizations.
This historic year, marked by the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, coincided with the official opening of the 6th World Nomad Games, which celebrate the legacy of the great nomadic civilization of our ancestors.
Coinciding with our national holiday, a summit is being held dedicated to the historic 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, bringing together leaders of the world's largest countries and high-ranking delegations.
Furthermore, the country has implemented the large-scale Yrys-Ordo and Bishkek Arena stadium projects. They have become the best gift for Independence Day.
Today, celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of independence are taking place throughout Kyrgyzstan. Continuing the well-established tradition of holding the main celebration annually in different regions of the country, this year's independence festivities will conclude in Talas Oblast, the land where the great Aikol Manas lived and is revered.
Dear people of Kyrgyzstan!
Along with strengthening our independence, the contribution of citizens with a strong national identity in supporting global events aimed at enhancing Kyrgyzstan's authority and international prestige, as well as demonstrating our unwavering unity, is invaluable.
The strength of a state lies in the intellectual potential and moral purity of its citizens. If every person who proudly proclaims, "I am a citizen of Kyrgyzstan! I am a Kyrgyzstani!" responsibly strives for the development of our country, raising public awareness, and promoting innovation, then our nation's development will accelerate even more rapidly.
We must continue our historical path, preserve and strengthen our roots, and, in whatever field we work, demonstrate a high level of culture, thereby strengthening our state. We must do this through every action, through honest work, through our pursuit of knowledge, and through unity.
We have no other homeland. Kyrgyzstan is our only hope and our eternal, blessed home!
Let us truly appreciate our independence and freedom, and sacredly preserve our national pride.
Let the flame of love and pride for the Fatherland burn in the heart of every Kyrgyzstani!
May freedom, passed down from generation to generation, be eternal!
Happy Independence Day!
Happiness, peace, and prosperity to our homeland!
