Bishkek, Aug. 29, 2026 /Kabar/. US state delegation will participate in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will take place on August 31 and will coincide with the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games. Edil Baisalov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the US reports.

According to him, the US delegation will be led by Ambassador Sergio Gor, Special Representative of US President Donald Trump. It will also include U.S. Senator Steve Daines of Montana, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bethany Poulos Morrison, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Paolo Zampolli, and other American representatives.

According to Edil Baisalov, the U.S. President's decision to send a representative delegation to Kyrgyzstan is an important sign of Washington's attention to Kyrgyzstan, its sovereignty, and national independence.

"We view the participation of such a representative American delegation in our country's main national holiday as evidence of growing mutual interest and strengthening Kyrgyz-American relations," the ambassador noted.

Baisalov emphasized that Kyrgyz-American relations received new impetus following the meeting between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House last November.

Bishkek and Washington are currently consistently expanding their political dialogue and practical cooperation, including trade and economic ties, investment, new technologies, education, and other areas of mutual interest, Baisalov said.
